London Resilience

On 1st December 2010, I was appointed Chairman of the London Region Resilience Forum- the equivalent of New York’s Office of Emergency Management. My Responsibilities include: business continuity and recovery from a catastrophic event. This covers fire, pestilence, flooding, terrorist attacks, collapses in national infrastructure (e.g. gas, electricity, water and food supplies). This is a pan-London organization, including the London boroughs, the Emergency Services, Armed Services, NHS, Transport for London and the Association of Train Operating Companies (ATOC), the Cabinet Office, with advice from specialist services. Until 1st December, the Forum was part of the Government Office for London and the Chair was the Minister for London- it has now been put where it should be, and is accountable to London.
